School Saving Bonus

The Victorian Government is delivering the School Saving Bonus (SSB) – a one-off support of $400 for eligible government school students from Prep to Year 12 in 2025.

 

At EHPS, the SSB can be used for uniforms and school activities until Monday 30 June 2025.

 

Any funds remaining after 30 June 2025, including online voucher amounts that have not been redeemed, will become a credit to use on school activities. However, the credit will not be available on your family account at our school until late July. To use any remaining SSB funds to cover the cost of school activities in July, please refer to the SSB online system and allocate the funds to school activities before 30 June 2025. A summary of the steps to using your SSB:

  1. Locate the School Saving Bonus email sent to Adult A in your child's student record (confirm with the School Office if required) from the Department of Education. Please check all email in your Inbox and Junk/Spam folders since this time. This email advises your unique code to access the School Saving Bonus. There is one email for each enrolled child. 
  2. If you do not successfully locate this email, you must complete the School Saving Bonus enquiry form so the dedicated Department of Education SSB contact centre can investigate; make sure you confirm with the School Office which email address the SSB email would have gone to before starting your query. If required once your investigation is activated, you can follow up with the contact centre by calling 1800 338 663, between 8.30am and 4.30pm on weekdays.
  3. Open the School Saving Bonus portal using your unique SSB code and email address. Refer to the step by step instructions linked above if required. 
  4. Decide how you want to allocate your $400. Please note that once you have allocated the $400 in the portal it cannot be changed. Until 30 June 2025, you can choose the following for EHPS students:
    1. In Store Purchase – uniform from Spartan School World
    2. Online Purchase – uniform from State Schools Relief
    3. School Activities – excursions / incursions / camp / sporting activities / activities or events that are a compulsory part of the curriculum for our students. SSB cannot be used for the annual parent payment, Instrumental Music Program, or after school/lunchtime programs.
  5. Read the event notice details in Compass, and if SSB can be applied, follow the instructions given. The current process requires that an email is sent to the specified email address to give your consent to use your allocated SSB.
