Parent Payments 2025

The School Council has approved the parent contributions for the 2025 school year.
The following letter from our School Council President, Jennifer Bittner, and School Council Treasurer, Pia Ahmet, was sent to EHPS families this week via Compass:
Our School Council is proud of the quality of the facilities and resources available for our students to enjoy and few schools match the numerous programs that we offer to cater for student’s needs. At Essex Heights, the continuous improvement of student learning and the children’s continued health and wellbeing is central to everything we do.
As parents, School Councillors and members of its Finance Committee, we need to draw your attention to the pressing matter of the level of Parent Voluntary Contributions.
Schools provide students with free instruction to fulfil the standard Victorian Curriculum, and we want to assure you that all contributions are voluntary. Nevertheless, the ongoing support of our families ensures that our school can provide classroom bulk supplies, as well as offer rich and extensive programs outside of the traditional teaching and learning structure. These financial contributions assist us with the purchasing of the resources for our exemplary specialist programs of Art / ArtSEL, Music, Science, Indonesian and Health & Physical Education, as well as the maintenance and upgrade of our facilities and grounds e.g. classrooms, playgrounds, student play spaces, gardens and our school oval.
Other programs that we can offer because of your contributions include the provision and upkeep of our computer devices e.g. purchase of new laptops, maintenance of extensive sets of books for reading, provision of mathematical resources in every classroom, year level choirs, and an effective and staffed health centre for the wellbeing all students.
With your financial support, our school can continue to uphold its excellent standards in all the areas mentioned above.
Earlier this year, all families were issued with parent contributions overview re. payments for curriculum contributions, first aid officer and school grounds maintenance and improvement. To date this year’s contributions have not met our budget expectations. Unfortunately, this will impact school operations and resources.
For those that have made a payment, we thank you for your contribution. If you have not done so, we request that you consider supporting the school by making a contribution for 2025, as soon as practicable.
We understand that some families may be experiencing financial hardships or there are exceptional circumstances whereby full payment is simply not possible. In this case, any financial contribution you can make will be valued and appreciated. Please note, voluntary contributions can also be made by instalments. For further information, a confidential discussion can be arranged by contacting Barbara McCann, the Business Manager on Tel. 9807 4944.
We also want to thank you for your support, whether that is through fundraising or volunteering your time. This has made a huge difference to our school and the programs we can offer.
By all contributing financially, we can make sure that our children continue to have the best possible education.
Your faithfully
Jennifer Bittner Pia Ahmet
