Festival of Music

Our students delivered outstanding performances at Tuesday night's Festival of Music, showcasing their musical talents and dedication. The choir's beautiful singing captivated the audience, with each student giving their very best on stage.

The evening was a wonderful celebration of music and community, and we're incredibly proud of how our students represented the school. Their hard work and enthusiasm truly shone through in every note.

A heartfelt thank you to Mrs Ali for her tireless efforts in preparing the choir. Her dedication and expert guidance have been instrumental in developing our students' vocal skills and confidence.

We also extend our gratitude to all the families who attended and supported the event. Your presence and encouragement mean so much to our students and help create these memorable musical experiences.

Well done to everyone involved in making Tuesday night such a special success!

Class Placements 2026

A strongly considered and prayerful process is undertaken during the fourth term in regard to the placement of students in their class for 2026.

Part of this process involves our parents and caregivers providing any relevant information to the school for consideration; friendships, ongoing issues with peers, etc. Students have also been asked about their friendship group/s and peers with whom they like to learn. Please communicate any thoughts or concerns that are still relevant, rather than those that necessarily related to reasons for placement in previous years. As a school, we guarantee that every child will be with at least one friend who they have nominated.

Many factors are considered in the placement of students including learning style and needs, emotional/social needs, gender mix, personality traits and the like.

Parents/caregivers are asked to provide us with any information which you believe is relevant by Monday 3rd November. Please seek to avoid making requests for specific teachers as we are unable to accommodate those requests.

It is preferred that you communicate via email to either

Tim Kriewaldt (Deputy Principal) kriewaldt.tim@goldengrove.sa.edu.au or

Jayne Zadow (Director of PYP, Teaching and Learning) zadow.jayne@goldengrove.sa.edu.au

All emails received will be acknowledged.

As you would understand we take the process of allocation very seriously and believe that the final classes are the result of much work, thought, and prayer. It is important that you take this opportunity to share concerns or information as once classes are finalised, there is no room for change.

SACSA Basketball

Our school showed tremendous spirit and skill at this week's SACSA basketball competition, with our Year 3/4 team and Year 5/6 boys and girls teams representing us with pride on the court.

All students displayed wonderful teamwork and competed in an excellent spirit throughout their games, showing great improvement and enthusiasm.

A huge thank you goes out to everyone who made this week possible. To the teachers and staff who dedicated their time to training and supporting our players and to all the families who came along to cheer from the sidelines – your support means the world to our students.

We're incredibly proud of all our basketball players and look forward to seeing them continue to develop their skills and love for the game.

STEM and Music Classroom Upgrades

You may have noticed some construction work taking place around our STEM and Music classroom block adjacent to the main courtyard. We are currently undertaking some important remediation work to address moisture issues that developed over time.

The original pavers and fill underneath were installed too high against the building slab, which unfortunately caused moisture problems. Our current work involves drying out the slab completely, carrying out any necessary internal remediation in both classroom spaces, and then reinstalling the pavers at the correct lower level. This will prevent the same issue from occurring in the future and ensure these valuable learning spaces remain in excellent condition for our students.

We appreciate your patience during this improvement work and look forward to having these spaces fully operational again soon.

Volunteering in the School

We appreciate many families giving of their time and expertise to volunteer in the school, whether it be with our school canteen, P & F Events, school camps, GLOW Week or classroom assistance. A reminder to please ensure that your WWCC details are up to date, along with RAHN and VSC training. Further information on our volunteering requirements is available from our website.
