The Grace of Giving
"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms." (1 Peter 4:10)
God has placed something unique within each of us—a gift, a talent, a ability that reflects His creative genius. Today, let's pause and consider the beautiful truth that every good thing we possess comes from the hand of a generous Father.
Perhaps your gift is encouragement—you have a way of lifting spirits with just the right words. Maybe it's hospitality—your home becomes a sanctuary where others feel welcomed and loved. Your gift might be teaching, helping, giving, or showing mercy. Whatever it is, it didn't originate with you. It was given to you so that it could flow through you to others.
Peter reminds us that we are "stewards" of these gifts. A steward doesn't own what they manage; they simply care for what belongs to another. Our gifts ultimately belong to God, and He has entrusted them to us for a sacred purpose: to serve others and to display His multifaceted grace.
Prayer
Dear Lord, thank You for the gifts You have given me. Forgive me for the times I've used them selfishly or left them dormant. Help me to see my abilities—great and small—as expressions of Your grace. Give me eyes to see the needs around me and courage to serve faithfully. May my life be a channel through which Your love flows to others.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
Blessings!
