Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Carers,
YEAR 5 FLETCHER JONES EXCURSION
As part of our Year 5 theme on local history and immigration, we visited Fletcher Jones. We explored the beautiful gardens, learnt about the famous “Plus 8 Man,” followed the historical timeline, and discovered that the old factory building is now the Fletcher Jones Market. The Fletcher Jones Gardens are a recognised Heritage Garden. We learnt that Fletcher Jones was an important person in Warrnambool’s history, not only because of the successful business he built but also because of the kind and fair way he treated his employees. The day finished with a relaxing picnic lunch together, making it a wonderful mix of learning, exploration, and fun.
GOVEMBER
It’s been a great start to this years GOvember with the lapathon on Monday kicking off what’s set to be a great month.
Thank you to everyone who assisted in making the lapathon a great success. Everyone put in their best efforts and enjoyed the hot food day, icypoles and icecreams that were on offer.
Sponsor forms and donations have been coming in and it’s great to see our school community getting behind this as all dollars raised will go back into making our school grounds even better.
Let’s keep up the great energy and we look forward to another great week!
FOODSHARE DRIVE
A huge thank you to our wonderful school community for your generosity and support during our recent FoodShare collection. All items have now been donated — an incredible 434kg of food was contributed!
Your kindness will help make a real difference to local families in need. A special thank you to our Community Team and Mrs Allen for organising and coordinating this fantastic initiative.
WESLEY COLLEGE YEAR 5-9 STRING ORCHESTRA AND CHOIR PERFORMANCE
On Thursday, we were delighted to welcome Wesley College Years 5-9 String Orchestra and Choir, who performed for our school community. Their music was truly inspiring and enjoyed by all. The conductors commended our students for being a respectful and attentive audience throughout. We now look forward to the upcoming performance by our own Year 4 String Orchestra at the Christmas Extravaganza on Thursday 4th December.
READY, SET, GO TRANSITION PROGRAM
This week we were excited to welcome our 2026 Foundation students as they began their Ready, Set, Go transition program.
The program is a wonderful opportunity for our newest students to become familiar with our school, meet their teachers and classmates. Over the coming weeks, they’ll take part in fun classroom activities and begin building confidence as they prepare for their first year of school.
It’s always such a joy to see their smiling faces and excitement as they start their learning journey with us!
GRANDPARENTS/SPECIAL PERSONS DAY AND REMEMBRANCE DAY SERVICE
Next Tuesday we have a very special day planned. Grandparents/Special people can come and visit the classrooms and see what all our students have been up to this month. Following this we will have our special Remembrance Day service in the gym at 10.30am.
We will also have two of our JSC students representing our school at the Warrnambool RSL service. This is an important opportunity for us to pause and reflect, to remember those who have served and sacrificed for our country, and to show our respect.
WORKING BEE
We are holding a school Working Bee and would love your support!
Let’s work together to help keep our school grounds looking clean, safe and inviting for our students. We’ll be doing general tidy-up jobs including topping up the sandpit and refreshing playground areas. Any amount of time you can spare is greatly appreciated — many hands make light work!

WELLBEING PARENT INFORMATION EVENING
On Thursday 20th November at 5:30pm we will be having a Parent Information evening about all the amazing Wellbeing programs we have at our school.
The session will be held in the BER building, and parents who can’t attend in person will also be able to join via Zoom.
We’ll be sharing information about Respectful Relationships, Big Life, our Wellbeing Awards, the Peaceful Kids program, and Mental Health in Primary Schools.
We’d love to see as many parents and carers as possible come along — or dial in — to hear more about the great work happening in wellbeing at our school.
Have a great weekend.
