YEAR 10
Planning Your Journey

Head of Year 10 lschuring@cns.catholic.edu.au
As we approach the busy assessment period, I would like to remind both parents and students about the valuable support available to help manage the workload. Mathematics tutoring is offered every Monday and Wednesday, both in the mornings and afternoons. This is an excellent opportunity for students to reinforce their understanding, ask questions, and receive extra guidance in preparation for their upcoming assessments.
The Year 10 Community Day will take place on Tuesday, November 25, Week 8. This year, we will be attending the Wake Park at Smithfield. This is an opportunity for us to celebrate the year that was and the connections your child has made throughout the year. Parent information, parent slip and disclaimer will be emailed out soon. Please keep an eye out for it and return it ASAP.
Our last Navy Careers Overview Program for 2025 will run on Wednesday, 10 December, and Thursday, 11 December, with positions still available.
If you know of any students aged 15 – 18 (Years 10 – 12) who are interested in a Defence career, please encourage them to apply via the link below.

This week, students have been reminded of the importance of securing their personal belongings throughout the school day. We ask for your support in reinforcing this message at home.
Students are expected to store items such as mobile devices, laptops, textbooks, and other personal possessions safely in their locked lockers during the day.
For those who ride to school, bikes and e-scooters must be secured to the racks provided in the bike shed with a lock. This helps ensure the safety of their property and supports a respectful and responsible school environment.
We appreciate your partnership in helping students care for their belongings and maintain a safe, orderly college community.

RACQ is developing a new education program specifically for adults to equip them with practical, tangible strategies to support young novice drivers – whether they’re learners, provisional licence holders, or even passengers.
To make sure this program is genuinely useful, RACQ’s Education Team would love to hear from you.
If you’ve ever mentored, or are currently supervising a young driver, or spent time in the passenger seat offering guidance (or silently pressing your foot on your imaginary brake), we would encourage you to take a few minutes to complete the short survey and share what you wish you’d known.
Your insights will help build a resource that truly supports supervisors and mentors, and ultimately, safer roads for everyone. At the end of the survey, there is also an option to enter the prize draw for the chance to win one of five $100 eGift cards.
