STAGE 2
3C, 3MP, 4A, 4PJ
Stage 2 is nearing the end of Term 4 and continuing to work hard on exciting learning in the classroom. Students are staying engaged, building new skills, and enjoying the meaningful activities planned for these final weeks. With lots of fun and memorable moments still to come, it’s a great way to finish the year with their peers.
Year 3 students have been exploring the exciting world of data! They collected information within their classes and learnt how to organise and represent their findings using graphs on google spreadsheets. This hands-on activity not only helped them understand how data can be gathered and analysed but also introduced them to digital skills and tools.

Year 4 students have been actively exploring the concept of measurement in their recent lessons. They have been learning to measure mass using scales, focusing on grams, and applying their skills through a variety of engaging challenges. In addition to mass, students have also been measuring lengths and distances, developing a strong understanding of different units of measurement and enhancing their practical maths skills. It’s wonderful to see their enthusiasm and confidence grow as they apply these important measurement concepts in hands-on activities.

As part of our road safety focus in PDHPE, Stage 2 have learned key pedestrian skills, including how to safely cross the road and identify hazards. Students took part in a supervised walk, where they practised using the pedestrian crossing located outside the school and walking safely through nearby streets.

Stage 2 students have been working hard on creating a cityscape that showcases a variety of layers and elements. This project has allowed them to explore their creativity while developing their understanding of composition and spatial relationships. The students have enjoyed bringing their city scenes to life with detail and depth, demonstrating great effort and skill in their artwork.

Our students have continued their unit, 'Places are Similar and Different,' and explored the natural and human features of Australia. They’ve learned about different landscapes, important landmarks, and the many cultures and communities that shape our country. To wrap up their learning, students are now creating a project to highlight what they’ve discovered.

Year 4 students have been learning to play badminton this term. While some found it challenging at first, everyone gave their best effort and showed great determination. They are discovering that learning a new skill takes time and practice, and their persistence is helping them improve with each session. It’s wonderful to see their enthusiasm and willingness to keep trying!
