✨ Hello Year 1 and 2 families! ✨
What an amazing year of learning, laughter and growth we’ve had together! 🌟 Our students have been busy exploring new ideas, building friendships, and showing incredible resilience and enthusiasm every single day. 📚💛 As we reach the end of the year, we are so proud of everything they have achieved — from their brilliant classroom work to their creativity, teamwork and kindness. 🌈🙌 We can’t wait to celebrate all the wonderful moments from Term 4 with you in this final newsletter! 🎉😊
I would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our incredible Stage 1 teaching team for their dedication, expertise and genuine care for our Year 1 and Year 2 students. 🌟 Each of you has created a safe, engaging and joyful learning environment where every child feels valued, supported and inspired to do their best. Your creativity, patience and commitment shine through in everything you do — from daily lessons to the extra moments of encouragement that make such a difference. 📚✨ Thank you for being amazing educators and for helping our students learn, grow and thrive this year. 🙌🌈
This term, our Year 1 and 2 students have been exploring the wonderful world of music through rhythm, sound and creativity! 🎶 As part of their learning, students constructed their very own rain sticks using toilet rolls, rice and colourful decorations. They loved experimenting with different materials to discover how sound changes, and they showed fantastic teamwork and imagination throughout the process. 🌈✨ The finished rain sticks not only look amazing but have helped students understand how instruments can produce different tones and rhythms. It’s been a joyful and hands-on musical experience for all! 🥁😊

This term, Year 1 students have been investigating the Material World, exploring how different substances can change, combine and create new materials. As part of their hands-on learning, students made their own playdough using flour, salt, oil, cream of tartar, food colouring and hot water. 🧂🧪 They loved measuring, mixing and watching the ingredients transform into a soft, stretchy dough they could shape and explore. This activity not only strengthened their understanding of materials and their properties but

also encouraged teamwork, fine motor skills and plenty of creative fun! 🎨✨
This term, Year 1 and 2 students have been learning how to measure mass using equal-arm balances. 🧮✨ They enjoyed comparing a variety of classroom objects 🧸📚, predicting which items would be heavier or lighter 🤔⚖️, and then testing their ideas using the balances. Students were excited to see the arms tip and level out as they experimented 🔍😊, helping them understand mass in a hands-on and meaningful way. This practical approach not only built their mathematical thinking 🧠💡 but also encouraged curiosity, problem-solving and confident use of measurement language. 🌟
