Juniors

The junior students have been enjoying improvising in our drama-based games. They have been working in groups to create and act out imaginative scenes. All students should be commended on how inclusive and engaged they have been.

They have also been hard at work learning their Christmas concert choreography and song. Some students even performed their song to the class as a group.

Seniors

Grade 4

Hip hop has hit at Monty! Students have been investigating the origins of hip hop and have delved into what makes this genre tick. We have looked at what time signatures work and have discovered that 4/4 timing it the best to deliver great rhymes over. 

We used Beep box Drum tracks to make simple beats and worked out that looping two counts of 8 was a great structure to use. Now that we have beats, we need lyrics! The students had free choice to create their own rhyme, or to make one using a nonsense subject creator… which most groups chose.

Great to see such engaged and enthusiastic students!
