2026 Principal Process

After nearly 13 wonderful years at Monty, I find myself in an unexpected position—stepping away while the school continues its journey forward. It's a peculiar feeling, but I have complete confidence in our school community and the leadership that will guide it into the future.

The Department of Education is currently recruiting an Acting Principal for Term 1, 2026, with this process due to be completed by early December.

Early in Term 1, 2026, the recruitment process for a Substantive Principal will commence. This is a thorough process that will take a good part of the term to complete, with an outcome expected by mid to late Term 1.

2026 Class Structure 

Our overall school size will change very little for 2026, with the same amount of grades overall - 18 classes.  Specialist classes will operate in the same way as they have this year. The table below shows how many classes there will be in each year level:

We are still working on placing teachers in year levels for 2026. We will release our 2026 Staffing Profile in early December.

As we head towards the end of the year, we’re getting ready for one of our favourite annual traditions... the MPS Christmas Raffle! Each year our families contribute generously, helping us build a collection of fantastic prizes and we’d love your support again. Every contribution, big or small, makes a real difference.
