Jonathan O’Farrell SRC Co-Captain 2026
On behalf of the St Augustine’s College community, I extend a massive thank you to each and every person who contributed to this year’s Christmas Appeal. This appeal has reached our goal of 100 baskets! The baskets we’ve filled together are symbols of how, when our community comes together, we can make a real difference in the lives of families who might otherwise struggle during the Christmas season.
Supporting this initiative has shown that we are both walking in the way of Mary and demonstrating family spirit towards those most in need.
Thank you again for your kindness and commitment. Together, we’ve shown that small acts of giving can create a big impact.

SRC reps for 2025
I thank the SRC reps of 2025 for their outstanding contribution to the College this year. They engaged in many activities, with the most recent event being the collection of the Vinnies donations. They have displayed Marist characteristics throughout their leadership and the College recognises and thanks them. It is truly inspiring to work with such compassionate and thoughtful young men.
Service Awards
This year many students from the College have engaged in service that has been organised through St Augustine's and self-initiated. At various assemblies this term, many students were presented with Service Awards ranging from platinum to bronze. A total of 64 students received awards for service! A truly inspiring effort. In addition to this, three Year 10 students were recognised at the final assembly for their service in IT to the College. Congratulations and well done to William Johnston, Cooper Connors and Marlon Sandoval for your IT service which has been invaluable!

Rosies
Rosies has been well supported by the Year 11 students since the Year 12s have left! Thank you to the staff and students who have supported this!

A Christmas message
Christmas is a time when we pause to reflect on the birth of Christ and his impact on our lives today. This reflection encourages us to be like Christ throughout Christmas, treating others with kindness and generosity and seeking to give rather than receive. While reflection is an individual process, Christmas invites us to join as a community to celebrate life and the birth of Christ together, much like the three wise men who journeyed to celebrate the birth of Christ as a community with Mary and Joseph.”
How can we make a difference this Christmas? The list is endless: through generosity, strength, kindness, compassion, love, understanding, caring, patience, forgiveness... Each of these gifts on their own are powerful forces for good in the world but when we unite them they become an unstoppable force that can change the course of human history. What are you going to give this Christmas?
As the calendar year comes to an end on the 31 December, the liturgical year is now about to end. This weekend marks the start of Advent which takes us on our journey to Christmas. It is a time of preparing for the arrival of our Saviour Jesus Christ who brings light to the world and hope for us all. I wish you all a Christmas where happy memories are created. Have a safe and happy Christmas and stay safe over the break! Take care and God bless.
