Being Comfortable & Being Uncomfortable
This week, the College acknowledged Year 6 student Harper Lude for his outstanding fundraising achievement. Harper has raised over $23,000 for Nedd’s Uncomfortable Challenge. In a heartwarming surprise on Monday afternoon, Harper was joined by Nedd Brockmann, who visited the College to personally congratulate him and contribute an additional $10,000 to his fundraising total.
Harper’s story is just one example of how Trinity boys continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
While this moment was undoubtedly special for Harper and those who met Nedd, the message he shared, ‘keep showing up’, hopefully resonates with our Junior School community. As highlighted in last week’s newsletter, we continue to foster a culture of inclusivity, kindness, and resilience. At Trinity, resilience is not just a concept. It is something we actively nurture through experiences like JPSSA sport, the Year 4 strings program, Junior School choirs, and even the spirited competition of handball games.
Just like throughout Nedd’s run across Australia, life doesn’t always go to plan. Building resilience means learning to navigate setbacks, whether it’s a challenge in a friendship, a disappointing assessment result, a missed free throw, or forgetting a musical instrument. As parents and educators, our role isn’t to shield boys from every difficulty, but to support them in becoming comfortable with being uncomfortable.
Will we do our best to keep them safe? Absolutely.
Will we listen when they need us? Always.
Will we support each boy to be the best he can be? Without question.
Will we jump in to rescue them? Not right away.
By allowing space for struggle, we help our boys grow into confident, capable young men who are ready to face life’s challenges with courage, character and resilience.
God Bless,
Mr James McPherson

Charism Art Exhibition
Last weekend the Charism Art Exhibition officially opened and was an intimate display of student artworks from across Catholic schools in the state, celebrating their charismatic journeys. This unique event was coordinated to coincide with the Jubilee Year and Trinity College was proudly represented by Year 12 students, Jake Ieraci and Brendan Ribgy, and Year 5 students, Joseph Stokes and Jonah van Someren. Their artworks recognised and celebrated the work of our Christian Brothers’ founder, blessed Edmund Rice.
A religious charism refers to the grace that animates a religious order. The diverse artworks celebrated and paid homage to the various religious orders who have worked with dedication and fervour to ensure that their charisms have underpinned all that has nourished Catholic Education over the years.
The exhibition was held at Chisholm Catholic College and officially blessed by Archbishop Timothy Costelloe. In attendance was the Executive Director of Catholic Education, Annette Morey, Bishops Don Sproxton and George Kolodziej, the leadership team from Chisholm College and invited clergy and nuns, representing many orders.
I’m delighted to announce that Jonah van Someren won the Year 3-6, 2D category and that Brendan Rigby received an Honourable mention in the Year 10-12, 2D category.
Our congratulations to all our entrants and especially to these two students!

Please note that attendance is expected for all Junior School boys. The evening will begin at 6:00 PM, and students are required to wear their Summer Uniform.
As a reminder, Junior School students will finish at 12:40 PM on this day to allow for preparation. Further details, including ticketing information, will be shared closer to the date.
Italian Week Celebration – Week 4
We’re excited to announce that the College will be celebrating Italian Week during Week 4 this Term! As part of the festivities, a gelato van will be visiting the College to bring a taste of Italy to everyone. To ensure a smooth ordering process and to help us cater for as many students as possible, Junior School students will need to pre-order their gelato.
Orders must be placed by 9:00 PM Monday, 3 November. Please note that no Junior School purchases will be available on the day, so be sure to get your order in early! We look forward to celebrating Italian culture — and enjoying some delicious gelato — together!
