 Year 6, Year 5, and Year 4 (Rooms 11, 10 and 28)

It’s been a busy time in the Art Room, here’s an update on recent projects:

Year 4 and Year 5 have enjoyed creating their 3D fish and sea creatures taking inspiration from a Western Australian illustrator, Roger Swainston, who found a way to draw underwater. Students have enjoyed using a range of resources, using tissue paper, sequins, beads, sparkly paper, and tinfoil to create their fish collage or scrunched-up newspaper and masking tape to form their sea creature sculpture. Room 7 created an impromptu display of their sea creatures outside the Art Room in Week 7.

Year 6 took inspiration from Vincent Van Gogh’s sunflowers to create their interpretation using their own choice of medium.

Year 6 students have also collaborated to develop jigsaw puzzles for their end-of-year graduation assembly. Each student has had one puzzle piece each and has chosen how they wanted to share their memories of primary school. Watch out for these jigsaws in the last week of term.
