SPORTS HIGHLIGHTS

As we conclude the final week of sporting competitions, our BSC students have demonstrated tremendous efforts. This week, the Year 7 and 8 students participated in the Kingston Division Gala Days, showcasing their sporting talents.

On Tuesday, sixteen Year 7 teams proudly represented BSC across a range of sports including Handball, Lawn Bowls, Lacrosse, Super 8’s Cricket, and Ultimate Frisbee. It was a day filled with great performances, with many of our teams finishing in top three positions across all sports. Today marks the Gala Day for the Year 8 students, and we cannot wait to hear the results. A big thank you to all teachers who generously offered their time to support our students. We are so lucky to be part of a district where students can represent their school across such a diverse range of sports.

Continuing her streak of outstanding achievements, Isabella Hollins competed at the Victorian All School Athletic Competition at Lakeside Stadium. Isabella claimed the gold in the Under 18 100m hurdles race, third in the shot put and fourth place in the long jump. She has now qualified to represent Victoria at the National All School competition in Perth from December 8th to 11th. We're incredibly proud of Isabella's accomplishments and wish her the best as she competes at the national level.

Some words from our students:

On the Gala Day I played lawn bowls against many schools in the district. We were in the lead until we were beat 6-2 by Bentleigh in the final second on the leaderboard. It was so fun being with my friends and meeting new people from different schools. All in all, it was a great, fun, competitive day.

Edan – Year 7

My team and I played handball, we won two games and tied one. My team and I were very collaborative, and we helped each other. We all had fun and scored lots of goals as a team. I saw many primary school friends which was fun to catch up with them. It was a great experience, and I can’t will do it again next year.
