District Athletics

Our next District event is on Tuesday 10th September.  Congratulations to those students that have been selected for the day, we know you will do SJV proud.  An operoo has been sent out to parents with all of the information, please let me know if you have any questions. A program has been attached to your operoo if you are keen to go and watch your child at their event.

Division Finals

Division Netball - Girls

Our team was excited and nervous to make the Division finals this year.  We played a total of three games against tough opposition. Sadly, we missed one of our stars in Harriet due to injury but we fought as hard as we could. We finished the day with 2 wins from 3 games, coming second overall! We are proud of our teamwork and good sportsmanship. Thank you to Mr Crowe a great coach throughout the day! By Zoe 6D

Division Netball - Mixed

The mixed netball team made up of Year 5 and 6 students was pumped to make Division finals this year. Our team played three games and had a thrilling one point in our last game. Unfortunately, two losses prior resulted in us coming in at third place overall. Despite not winning we had a lot of fun together and enjoyed playing netball. A shout-out to Bec for being our great and experienced coach for the tournament. by Buckley

Division Girls AFL

The Year 5s and 6s were well prepared to take on all the other schools at our Division AFL Day. The jumper presentation was funny and official and got the girls hyped up. Overall we played five games, just missing out on finals with three wins.

We loved how everyone participated with such passion and compassion for others. It was great to see all of the girls helping each other and showing off their footy skills. No doubt the AFLW selectors will be knocking on a few doors in the not too distant future. Thanks to Mrs De Leo and Noah for helping us and training us before the event. By Lily and Macy

Division Soccer

Our soccer team was made up of twelve Year 6 boys who were very excited to compete at Divison this year. We played a total of four games and we won one of those games by one goal. Something that we are proud of is that we made sure everyone got a touch and felt a part of the team. Overall it was an awesome experience playing against some strong teams from other schools. A big thanks to Mr Young who was our encouraging coach for the day!

Thank you to Mrs De Leo and her son Noah for coaching our Girls footy.  Great to have role models involved that are still very engaged in the game currently.

Thank you also to Rebecca Zani and Josh Crowe for coaching our netballers and Harry Young for coaching our soccer team also.

Uniforms

Any uniforms you may have from basketball days or soccer/football days in the past few weeks could you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE return these by tomorrow as we have a basketball day on Thursday that we are still hunting for uniforms for.  Your assistance with this is really appreciated.
