Ask R U OK? Any Day because life happens every day.
Dear Parents,
Let's encourage everyone to ask, "R U OK? Any Day" because life brings challenges every day. The annual campaign is a National Day of Action that emphasises the importance of meaningful conversations. This year's event will take place on Thursday, 12 September 2024. In 2024, R U OK? is urging everyone to remember to check in with loved ones regularly, as life is full of surprises and changes.
Life can be unpredictable, with ups and downs happening within a year, a month, or even a week. Whether it's a friend, family member, colleague, partner, or teammate, those we care about experience a range of emotions each day.
By engaging in open and honest conversations, we create trust and make it normal to discuss our true feelings. This way, when someone close to us is struggling, they know we are there to listen and support them.
While R U OK? Day on Thursday, September 12 serves as our National Day of Action, we encourage everyone to continue asking, "R U OK?" throughout the year because a simple conversation has the power to change a life.
R U OK? Day aims to promote important discussions about social isolation and its negative effects. The core message emphasises that community support and seeking help can make a difference during times of crisis and is a responsibility shared by all.
Dads are invited to join us in the Imaginarium on Thursday, 12th September. Together with your child, you can participate in co-constructing an art installation, connect with other dads, and engage in meaningful conversations.
The Imaginarium will be open from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm. Feel free to drop in for as much or as little time as you like during this period.
Warm regards,
