Snail Trail
We SNAILED IT!
As a community we raised $1652.40 for Vivian and the School of St Jude in Tanzania. A massive thank you and congratulations to everyone for their support and participation.
On Monday, we celebrated all things Snail Trail. During Literacy, Social Emotional Learning and Mathematics learning, students enjoyed reading snail picture books, designing snail shells, engaging in SEL conversations about emotional regulation, estimating dollar values and length, counting money and creating snail themed art.
In the afternoon, we gathered in the hall and built our Snail Trail. Students worked collaboratively to build their class snail trail. The excitement and joy on the students' faces and in the hall was a pleasure to witness.
Congratulations to SLA 2, who took out both categories, highest dollar value and greatest length. They collect a whopping $239.05 and a trail length of 64.94 meters. SLA 2 used their problem solving and collaborative learning dispositions to find create solutions to raising money, such as recycling.
During the Snail Trail, I have had amazing support from Paul and the Snailettes, Paul, Sofia, Adele and Leila. Your enthusiasm, support and leadership were on display for our community to see. You were always ready to lend a hand, do a job or hand out a trophy. Thank-you, you SNAILED IT!
Thank you again to all families and school community who generously donated and participated in the inaugural SJW Snail Trail. We couldn’t have done it without you.
Paraliturgy of Thanksgiving for Fr Manny
On Monday 7th October, at 11:30am, we will gather as a school community to celebrate and give thanks for Fr Manny and his contribution and service to the school and parish of St Joseph the Worker. We would like to invite families to join us at this celebration.
For the past 17 years, Fr Manny has supported our school community, staff and students, not only along their faith journeys but also their life and learning journeys. Many of our students have received their Sacraments of Initiation, Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation with Fr Manny’s support and guidance. We thank you, Fr Manny for your dedication, generosity and joy for sharing the Good News of Jesus and being a model of active, living faith in our community.
Thank you, Fr Manny.
A Prayer of Thanksgiving
Gracious and loving God, we thank you for the gift of our priests. Through them, we experience your presence in the sacraments.
Help our priests to be strong in their vocation. Set their souls on fire with love for your people.
Grant them the wisdom, understanding, and strength they need to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. Inspire them with the vision of your Kingdom.
Give them the words they need to spread the Gospel. Allow them to experience joy in their ministry.
Help them to become instruments of your divine grace.
We ask this through Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns as our Eternal Priest.
Amen.
