Book Week
Ron Murray- Storyteller
Uncle Ron Murray is from the traditional lands of Balranald on the border of VIC and NSW. He is proud of his Wamba Wamba mob and has many talents in the arts that takes him overseas playing the digeridoo, creating woodwork pieces, singing and acting. He is known as an expert 'digi' maker and told us about the different types of wood used to make them. He shared stories about wombats and making Ash Barty one for the Australian Open. Ron has met and made art for Muhammad Ali, Sir Bob Geldof and the late, Queen Elizabeth. Ron taught the Prep-2 students some traditional dance moves as he played the digeridoo and got some year 3-6 students involved in making music with sticks.
Book Parade
On Thursday 22nd August lots of magical characters came to life at our Book Week Parade. It was great to see so many parents in attendance and the efforts made with costumes. I think this was our most creative year yet!! Thank you to our school captains and music DJ's for all their help with the morning parade.
