What's Been Happening in Year 2

Last week the Year 2’s went on an excursion to The Werribee Zoo. First, we all got on the bus. It was a long bus ride to the zoo as it took one hour!

When we arrived, we ate a snack and played on the playground. Next, we went on the Safari Bus. We saw lots of different kinds of animals whilst on the Safari. Our favourite animals we saw were mongolian wild horses, rhinos, lions, giraffes and many other animals on the bus.

We saw the giraffe eating leaves from the tallest tree with its long purple tongue! We saw many other animals that we had never seen before. We saw an antelope with two long sharp horns and ostriches with big eyes that stared at us! We also attended a workshop where we built shelters for the wallabies, we watered plants, looked at different types of eggs and we made puzzles. We also saw a collection of animal droppings! We then ate lunch outside with the meerkats which was so cool!

After lunch we walked through the Australian and African trail. We saw hippos, cheetahs, monkeys, gorillas and koalas. It was so awesome to see these animals in their habitats. We had so much fun at the zoo but we were so tired that some students slept on the bus on the way back to school. Thank you to the parents that came with us and to our Year 2 teachers for organising such a fun excursion!

Book Week 2024

BOOK FAIR

WEDNESDAY 21st - MONDAY 26th AUGUST

4 DAYS ONLY!!!!

Students will have the opportunity to browse and purchase books during class time on the dates listed below, or before school (8:30 - 8:45am) and after school (3:20 - 3:45pm).

A range of books, including popular titles, classics, and new releases will be available. Novelty items such as posters, pencils, pens & erasers will also be on sale.

If your child is purchasing during school hours, they will need

cash or a pre-payment receipt to purchase a book or novelty item.

Either cash, card or a pre-payment receipt will be accepted when

buying an item with an adult.

Scholastic Book Fair Pre-payment Option

Today your child will come home from school with a Book Fair Student Wish List.

If you would prefer not to give your child cash to purchase something for safety reasons and would rather make a payment in advance, use the Student Wish List form being sent home today.

You make a payment on-line with your credit card and receive a receipt number that you use to fill in the payment receipt side along with your details and your child’s.

Your child then brings this to the Book Fair next week instead of cash and uses it to

purchase something up to the value of the amount prepaid.

If you have any questions in regards to this option please feel free to come and see the

Library Team before or after school or contact them via the school office.
