Year 7 and 8 Wonder Showcase

Last term, our school proudly hosted the Wonder Subject Showcase, where Year 7 and 8 students presented their Term 2 projects. The event was a vibrant celebration of student creativity, collaboration, and cultural exploration.

Year 7 students focused on projects that delved into their individual and family cultures. Through their work, they celebrated diversity and gained a deeper understanding of their unique heritage. These projects provided a meaningful opportunity for students to connect with their roots and share their stories with peers and the broader community.

Year 8 students took on the challenge of collaboratively designing a new suburb for Sandown. Their projects demonstrated a thoughtful integration of Indigenous history and a commitment to inclusivity, ensuring that their proposed suburbs catered to people of all ages and incomes. This exercise in urban planning encouraged students to think critically about sustainability, community needs, and social equity.

The showcase was attended by special guests, including the Mayor of Greater Dandenong, sustainability experts, and members of Kildare Ministries.

It was an inspiring day where students not only showcased their learning but also learned from each other, fostering a strong sense of community and shared purpose.
