Student Spotlight

Isabelle and I recently had the privilege of competing in the BioTECH future challenge, a competition that connects high school students with leading academics to creatively solve challenges in fields ranging from medicine and health to sustainable environment, emerging technologies, regulations and ethics.

Last week, we pitched our proposed innovation to a panel of judges at Melbourne University. Although we didn’t take home the top prize, the experience was invaluable. We strongly recommend this challenge to anyone eager to develop practical solutions to real-world problems in biotech.

Overall, we’d like to thank our mentor Kino Shen, a PhD student from Melbourne University, who dedicated much of his time to guide us through the complex process of product development. We’d also like to extend our thanks to the Bioinnovation Student Initiative at Melbourne University for hosting the Victorian chapter of this inspiring event. Isabelle and I are excited about next year’s competition and look forward to our next idea, one that we hope not only will deepen our exploration into the world of Biotech innovations but also have the potential to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives.
