Wallace and Gromit Concert - The Wrong Trousers

Congratulations to Mr Ziino and all our students (and staff) for their outstanding performance of Wallace and Gromit’s - The Wrong Trousers. The performance was one of the school’s highlights of the year.

What an amazing event The Wrong Trousers was! In the 50 year history of BHS’s Music Program, showcasing the soundtrack to a film is not a project that has been undertaken before. It presented many new and interesting opportunities for the students and staff involved. The precision required to play the film soundtrack in sync with the movie required control and focus from our musicians. The tech crew also had new challenges to navigate. The success was truly evident when the audience forgot the Orchestra was there.

The Story Orchestra opened this performance with a short presentation. This group is student organised and run, sourcing their own music and conducting their own rehearsals. Story Orchestra’s selections explored music from a variety of media. These included their own arrangement of the Peppa Pig theme and Minecraft music. The main attraction didn’t disappoint! Released in 1993, The Wrong Trousers main character, Gromit, finds himself being pushed out of his room and home by a devious new lodger, Feathers McGraw.

We look forward to more incredible musical adventures throughout the rest of the year, including the much-anticipated Spring Music Concert on Thursday 19 September.

On Tuesday, August 27 the Concert Strings and Junior Band undertook a tour to two of our local schools, Old Orchard and Blackburn Primary.
