Year 8 German
German students in Year 8 have been working on the topic of pets and animals. Students wrote an elfchen poem about an animal of their choice. They then made a poster with their individual poems in class.
Geh Fisch!
Students of German in year 8 also played several games of go fish. This game works really well for requesting and responding, as well as teaching the students several grammatical points in the process. As you can see they were not only at the centre of their learning but also really enjoying the peer interaction using the language.

VCE French
On Friday 26 July, six VCE French students attended the Model UN excursion at the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Learning in North Melbourne. Daniel Chin, Pamella Gwiza and Charlotte Arblaster represented Vietnam and Holly Trainor, Jinya Kamada-Poon and Zhuoyu Chong represented Turkey.
All students spoke wonderfully in French. They presented very convincing arguments on the topic of climate change on behalf of their respective countries and negotiated amendments with students from other schools. Well done to all those involved!
“It was very different from what I’ve experienced before, so it was a bit stressful and overwhelming. But it was pretty cool to see what an actual UN Conference would’ve been like. There was free coffee and hot chocolate which was nice. Overall, it was a worthwhile experience.”
