Term 3 FRENCH POETRY COMPETITION

As there have been lots of events happening at School such as school photo day and Senior Athletics, most BPPS students have now started working on the challenge of the BPPS French Poetry Recitation competition.

Students have been practising to learn and record a few lines per session in French to prepare for the class finals in week 8. The class will then mark their peers following selected criteria. Of course, in the meantime, students are encouraged to share their poems with family and practice at home. ( see below for links to the poems on Seesaw).

In week 9, first placegetters from each class will compete in a level final and an overall winner will be chosen for each level. Students must be present to compete in the finals and, if they are absent, second or third placegetters may compete in their stead. Judging teachers’ decisions are final. Winners will receive CL&S awards and French prizes which will be presented in Term 4.

The in-house poetry competition has been running for a few years now and its purpose is to encourage students to hone confidence, application, memorisation and oral presentation skills in preparation for high school, work and life in general.

Please note that the grade 6 Poem will be shortened to accommodate whole school photo and senior athletics activities in in weeks 2 and 3. Students will be instructed of the sl changes in class.
