Welcome Back to Term 3!

Welcome back to Term 3, everyone! After a refreshing break, we're ready to dive into another exciting term filled with sports and activities.  Our students have always demonstrated remarkable enthusiasm and dedication, and this term promises to be no different.  We're thrilled to kick off a schedule packed with opportunities for our athletes to shine and represent our college with pride.

🥏 State Cross Country Success

Our term began on a high note with the State Cross Country event on July 18th.  Our students showcased their resilience and determination, competing in extremely wet and muddy conditions.  Despite the challenging weather, our runners performed exceptionally well, bringing home impressive results and representing the college proudly.  Their spirit and perseverance were truly inspiring, and we couldn't be prouder of their achievements.

Congratulations to the following students for their outstanding efforts; Charlotte Armstrong (Year7), Zahira Wilson, Silas Brennan and Edi Waghorn (Year 8), Romany Faulknor (pictured) and Josh Porter (Year 10).

🥏 Hume Region Badminton Triumph

Following success in the Term 2 Round Robin competition earlier this term, our Year 10 girls (Cleo Chapman, Shetayah Gruneklee, Chloe Ash and Charlize Berry) attended the Hume Region Badminton event.  The competition was strong, but our girls demonstrated outstanding skill and sportsmanship.  It was a fantastic day filled with intense matches and valuable experiences.  We appreciate the effort and commitment of our players who travelled to compete and proudly represented our college.

🥏 Upcoming School Netball Championships

This term, we are eagerly anticipating the School Netball Championships, which will be held on 2nd August and 13th August.  Our dedicated representative students have been training rigorously several times a week, putting in their best effort to prepare for this prestigious event.  The girls will be heading to Bendigo, while the boys will compete at the State Netball Hockey Centre. It's going to be a day filled with competitive netball, and our students are buzzing with excitement.  We wish them all the best and are confident they will perform admirably.

🥏Farewell and Welcome: AFL Sports Trainee

As we welcome Term 3, we also take a moment to bid farewell to our AFL Sports Trainee, Oliver Lubeck, who has been an invaluable part of our sports program. I am delighted to announce that Ollie has been accepted into a teaching course and is embarking on the journey to become a qualified teacher.  Ollie’s dedication and passion for education have been evident throughout his time with us, and I have no doubt he will excel in his studies and future career.  The College wish him the very best of luck and hope to see him return to our College once he  fully qualified, ready to inspire the next generation of students.

We are excited to welcome our new AFL Sports Trainee to the college, Lachlan King. Over the next week, he will be introducing himself and getting to know our students.  He is eager to become a great support in our PE classes for both primary and secondary students.  With his enthusiasm and fresh perspective, we are confident he will bring new energy and insights to our sports program.  We look forward to seeing the positive impact he will have on our students and the broader school community.

🥏 Upcoming Term 3 Events

In addition to the netball championships, we have several other exciting events lined up this term. The Secondary Round Robin will take place, providing another opportunity for our students to showcase their talents.  We'll also see our previous round robin winners competing in the Hume Region days, where they will strive to achieve even greater success.  Finally, we'll wrap up the term with the next level of Athletics for both Primary and Secondary, a highlight for many of our students. It's a fantastic way to end the term, celebrating the hard work and achievements of our student athletes.  Here's to a fantastic Term 3 filled with sports, learning, and growth for everyone involved!
