Principal message
Good Afternoon Families,
I'm sure many families have embraced the Olympics over the last few days and whilst the time zone isn't ideal it certainly has been wonderful to see the efforts of our sportsmen and women in Paris. The Games certainly highlight the values of friendship, excellence, and respect. With our Athletic carnival coming up we look forward to having a great day not only celebrating success but also the opportunity to have fun and be active. I look forward to seeing parents and families at the track next week. Due to this event, our fortnightly coffee & chat will not occur at school that morning.
Community
It was great to join the Parents and Friends meeting last week and it was certainly a great turn up and again showed the great community that St Monicas provides. I was also able to accept a cheque for $1000 from the Kangaroo Flat Rotary club. The money will be used to support our Pastoral Care initiatives and continue to provide an inclusive school environment. We thank the Rotary club for their ongoing support. It is certainly valued and appreciated.
Reconciliation Program
Our Reconciliation program started last week and we pray for the children and families as they take the important step in their faith lives. A big thank you to the staff involved in the program and to Fr Brian and Fr DJ who supported the preparation and formation night.
Staffing
In staffing news, sadly Mr Moloney will be leaving us at the end of week 6 to take up a position closer to Melbourne. We are currently working through the process to find a replacement teacher for the 5&6M class.
Kind Regards,
Paul Wilkinson
