How quickly time flies – it's August already and we are moving very quickly through what will be a busy and action-packed term.

The School Ball is approaching in just two weeks, and the Ball committee and front office ladies have been organising some excellent decorations to fit the theme.

The last day to purchase the Ball tickets is next Wednesday, 7th August, so hopefully, everyone will have their Visitor Contracts completed by Monday, 5th August.

A reminder to everyone attending the Ball that this is a drug, alcohol and vape-free event as it is a school function. Anyone found to be in possession or under the influence of any of these substances will be removed from the venue.

This week is Jennie Stringer’s last week as she takes some well-deserved Long Service Leave until the end of the year. While Jennie is away, Paul Dyson will return from his leave to fill the role of Students Services Manager.

I would like to personally thank Jennie for her advice and assistance while I got to know the College and the students in the short time I have been here. I also look forward to working with Paul again as he takes on the mantle of assisting students in and around the College.

Pigs on Farm

Exciting developments are underway on the Farm. The plans for the re-introduction of pigs are nearing completion, thanks to the dedicated work of the Farm management team and Technical Officers who are ensuring we have suitable facilities for the enterprise. This initiative will provide students with a new skill set and create more opportunities for them to demonstrate the required skills for their certificates.

Sowing the Seed

Jenny Staker has been crunching the numbers on the 'Sowing the Seed'  innovation data collected at the start of the term. This task has been complex, with over 100 submissions with 5-6 rating categories attached.  Jenny has successfully categorised the data and this will be further analysed in the coming weeks to assist in our planning for next year and beyond.

I thank Jenny for taking the leadership role in this project and look forward to further discussion on the topics identified.

Year 10 Student Councillors

Today, we appointed and announced three Year 10 Student Councillors for the remainder of the year.  Hadley Edwards, Kate Power and Shaelea Parker.
