Spotlight Literacy

Years 3 - 6                       Short Stories

Spotlight Literacy students wrote and submitted original short stories to a writing competition run by, Spencil. First, we learnt about 'the art of the short story' and the beauty of a short story allows us, as writers, to do. Short stories don't always need a beginning, middle, end, problem, solution etc. With a short story you can enter a storyline at any point and finish leaving the reader hanging! It also requires rich descriptions and powerful language. We thought our submissions were so well-written, we would love to share them with you over the next few newsletters! Please, enjoy!
