Physical Education

Over the past fortnight, our students have been focusing on the following skills:

Prep – receiving a bounce pass and kicking

Grade 1/2 – The Olympic Games – soccer and hockey

Grade 3/4 – Invasion Games at the Olympics – hockey and handball

Grade 5/6 – Sport Education. Each class has selected a sport, classified as an invasion game, to play in a class roster. 5/6A & 5/6P have selected netball. 5/6O & 5/6V have chosen basketball.

Swimming

Our Whole School Swimming Program is fast approaching. Dates for each level are listed below. During swimming week, students will be required to bring a bag (in addition to their school bag) with the following items:

  • Bathers
  • Towel
  • Thongs/crocs/slides (recommended)
  • Hairbrush/comb
  • Water bottle
  • Plastic bag for wet items
  • Goggles are recommended if you have some at home
  • T-shirt and shorts (Thursday only)

This year, students will participate in a Water Safety Day on the Thursday of their swimming week. As part of this, students are required to swim in clothing on this day. The clothing items requested are t-shirt and shorts (light clothing only please). Clothing is required to be worn over bathers as the clothes may be removed during the session.

Please ensure that all your child’s clothes are clearly labelled, so that items can be identified if lost.
