Preparation - Year 6- Mufti Day ‘Write a Book in a Day’ - Friday 2 August
Later this term, our Year 6 girls will be working in groups with Year 6 Scots boys for a writing workshop. On this day, some of the students will be involved in the Write a Book in a Day competition. Write a Book in a Day challenges teams across Australia to write and illustrate a book in just 12 hours for children in hospital to enjoy. As part of this, we will be raising vital funds for The Kids' Cancer Project. All Junior School students from Prep-Year 6 are asked to wear mufti clothes to school on Friday 2 August (next week) and to please bring a gold coin donation. Year 2-Child’s Play Excursion - Vaucluse House - Wednesday 21 August 2024
Year 2 students have been studying ‘Changes in Technology’ as part of their Term 3 History unit of work. On Wednesday 21 August, students will take part in an excursion to Vaucluse House. This excursion will concentrate on what life was like at Vaucluse House in the 1860s for the Wentworth family and their servants. Working as history detectives, they will investigate the bedrooms, kitchen, drawing room, scullery, and kitchen garden for clues that help them understand how a grand mansion functioned in the 1860s. As well as exploring the house and estate, students will participate in a range of activities to get ‘hands-on’ with the past.
Parents will be forwarded all information in the week ahead, including uniform requirements as well as a permission slip.
