Big Write and VCOP Talk Homework
Our next Big Write will be held on varying days over the next week and is our termly Cold Write. The students will be exposed to the stimulus on the day that they complete the Cold Write. This is an opportunity to show off their writing skills in a mostly independent setting.

F-2
Grade 3-4
On Monday, 27th July, St Mary's Rushworth had the pleasure of hosting an enriching incursion by GV Water. The session focused on the fascinating journey of water through the water cycle, engaging students with hands-on activities and interactive learning.
The GV Water team introduced the students to the key stages of the water cycle: evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and collection. Through engaging demonstrations and experiments, the students observed how water transforms from a liquid to a gas and back again, gaining a deeper understanding of the natural processes that sustain life on Earth.
One of the highlights of the incursion was the "Water Cycle in a Bag" experiment. Students created their mini water cycles by drawing the stages on a plastic bag, adding a small amount of water, and sealing it. Placing the bags in a sunny spot, they watched as the water evaporated and condensed, simulating the entire cycle within their own classroom.
Additionally, the students participated in discussions about the importance of water conservation and how they can contribute to preserving this vital resource. The GV Water team emphasised the significance of every drop, inspiring the young minds to be mindful of their water usage.
The incursion not only aligned perfectly with our current curriculum but also provided a memorable learning experience for all. It was a fantastic opportunity for students to see science in action and understand its relevance to their daily lives.
We extend our thanks to GV Water for their time and effort in delivering such a valuable and engaging session. The students of St Mary's Rushworth are now more informed and inspired to take part in conserving our planet's precious water resources.
Here's to more interactive and educational experiences that bring science to life for our students!
