Tommorrow is our first Friday assembly for the term, and all classes will be sharing what they will be focussing on in class. The assembly will be held in our newly built, multi-purpose building, and families are invited to join us afterwards, for light refreshments.
Last Friday, students in Years 4-6 participated in the annual Winter Sports competition, in Wodonga, with teams playing soccer, volleyball and netball. Congratulations to all students on their participation, sportsmanship and acheivement on the day. In a very exciting turn of events, our netballers won 7 of their 8 games, to bring home the trophy, and were rightfully very proud to be able to display this in our new display cabinet! A big thank you to Steph for her organisation and to all attending staff for their coaching and support on the day.
Congratulations also to Ferdi on his participation in last week's State Championships for Cross Country running. Ferdi finished 67th in the state, for his age-group, which is a fantastic achievement!
On Monday, our Year 5 students had the opportunity to participate in the first of a series of skateboard sessions with Al's Skate centre. As well as learning the basics of skateboarding, students discussed the importance of exercise in maintaining a healthy body and mindset. We are very grateful to be able to provide our students with this opportunity and would like to extend our thanks to the School's Focussed Youth Service, for their support in funding this small group activity.
Yesterday, students in Years 3/4 had their first day of cross-country skiing. Many thanks to Steph, Sheepy and team for their organisation and to Kathryn, Mary and Misa for their assistance on the day.
The Year 5/6 downhill snow program is now scheduled to begin next Tuesday, the 30th July. Many thanks to Steph for her organisation and to all staff and volunteers for their support in making this happen.
A reminder to all families that our Book Week celebrations will be held in just two weeks, on Thursday 8th August! As in previous years, we will be celebrating with a parade, book sale and cross-age activities. Students are encouraged to join in the fun and come dressed up as their favourite book character.
Our school is greatly supported by our local Red Cross branch, who help to deliver our
Breakfast Club two days a week. Tuesday, 13th August, is wear Red for Red Cross. Students are encouraged to show their support to our Red Cross Volunteers by bringing a gold coin donation, and wearing something red.
A reminder to also please ensure consent and payment for the snow programs and camps are completed asap, on Compass. If you require a payment plan for any of the above, please contact Joy, in the office.
The ski room will be open every Friday during Term 3 from 3.30-4.30 for weekend ski hire ($33 per set).
