Year 4/5/6

Narrative Stories Inspired by Warhorse

This term, our students in Years 4, 5, and 6 have been diving into the world of narrative writing, inspired by our class novel, Warhorse. Each student created a unique story featuring their chosen animal character, complete with an action, a problem, a resolution, and a conclusion. The creativity and hard work of our students have been truly impressive, and they have been fully engaged in bringing their stories to life. This activity aligns with the Year 5 English NSW syllabus outcomes, particularly in developing skills in creating texts and understanding narrative structure (EN2-2A).

Mathematics: Exploring Measurement

In Mathematics, we have been learning about converting measurements using millimetres (mm), centimetres (cm), metres (m), and kilometres (km). Additionally, we have been exploring the concept of perimeter, understanding how to measure the distance around various shapes. To solidify our understanding, we have been playing engaging measurement games that make learning fun and interactive. This learning is in line with the curriculum links for Stage 2 (MA2-9MG) and Stage 3 (MA3-9MG) measurement. The hands-on activities have helped students understand the practical applications of measurement in everyday life.
