From the Principal's Desk

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we journey through this special time of the school year, there is much to celebrate and reflect upon within our school community.

Catholic Schools Week

This, we came together as a community to celebrate Catholic Schools Week. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the gift of Catholic education and the values that underpin our school. Our Catholic Schools Week Assembly was a true testament to the spirit of our students, showcasing their learning, faith, and talents. It was wonderful to see so many families joining us for Open Classrooms, where students proudly shared their work and learning experiences. Thank you to all who attended and supported this event.

The Season of Lent

We are now well into the Lenten season, a time of reflection, prayer, and preparation. As a school, we have been focusing on acts of kindness, sacrifice, and service to others. Our students have been engaging in classroom discussions, prayer, and activities that highlight the importance of Lent in our faith journey. I encourage families to continue these conversations at home as we prepare our hearts for Easter.

David Enever Religious Music Concert

This week, we had the privilege of attending the David Enever Religious Music Concert. This experience provided our staff and students with an uplifting and faith-filled opportunity to engage with music as a form of worship and expression. David’s energy and passion for religious music were truly inspiring, and our students walked away with a deeper appreciation for how music enhances our faith experience.

Laurel Hill Leadership Camp (Years 4, 5, and 6)

Our senior students recently embarked on an incredible leadership camp at Laurel Hill. This two day experience challenged them to step outside their comfort zones, develop teamwork skills, and grow in their leadership abilities. Through a variety of activities—including team challenges, outdoor adventures, and reflective sessions—students built resilience, confidence, and friendships. It was a joy to see their enthusiasm and determination throughout the camp. A big thank you to the staff who accompanied them and to our students for embracing the experience so wholeheartedly.

Attendance

There will be attendance notes coming out over the next couple of weeks. Once we are sufficiently into Term 1 and a student's attendance is below 90%, it is flagged. Once it is below 85%, it triggers a note home to parents.

As we move forward through this term, I continue to be grateful for the dedication of our staff, the enthusiasm of our students, and the unwavering support of our families.

Wishing you all a blessed and reflective Lenten season.

Warm regards,

Daniel Francis
