Foundation Unit

Welcome back to Term 2! It was very exciting seeing all the students return and share what they got up to over the school holidays.

As Anzac day is approaching, students have been learning about the day and made some poppies to remember those who fought in the war.

In Reading, Students have begun learning about summarising and clarifying. While reading text to the class, students have been encouraged to ask questions and clarify unknown vocabulary within the text. They also have been developing their abilities to discuss what they read about including the beginning, middle and end.

In Writing, students have brainstormed all the things they did on school holidays and are now writing about it. Students are continuing to sound out their words and record the sounds they hear.
