What's been happening in Grade Two 

What a fantastic start to life in Year 2 we have had in Term One! Our excellent students have developed great routines and new friendships over the course of this term, and this has allowed us to have some wonderful learning opportunities. See some of the students highlights of the term below.

Some of our Maths highlights are:

I loved Maths games because they are fun. - Quintin 2S

In Maths, I liked to collect data because you can get information from other people. Kenneth - 2S

In Reading, I liked reading Power Poodle because it is interesting. - Hayley 2S

Healthy Harold 

The Grade Two's enjoyed a visit from Healthy Harold this term where they completed an engaging activity called "Safety Rules!" The children learned about safe and unsafe places, situations, and behaviours, both in real life and online. They also explored who they can trust and where they can go for help when needed. Through fun and interactive learning, the students investigated ways to make safe choices and how to support and care for their friends. 

I really enjoyed learning about how to keep safe and I loved patting Harold at the end. - Yun-Hai 2M

I loved seeing Harold pop out of the box and learning about being safe from a video they showed me. - Gretel 2M 

I learnt how to be safe at school and at home. - Jason 2M

I liked seeing Harold move and learning about wearing a seatbelt in the car. - Sander 2J

Police Visit 

We were lucky enough to have a visit from a local Police Officer that spoke about their role and what they do to keep to community safe. The students were excited to ask about the police officer's uniform and equipment and we even got a turn to hold the handcuffs, try a police hat and see the police car. 

I liked when we got to try the hats on and pretend to be a police officer, I also liked looking at the police lights when they were turned on the car. - Surveen 2M 

I loved looking and holding the handcuffs. - Bob 2M 

I liked learning about their equipment, holding the handcuffs and hat and taking a photo in front of the police car. - Sia 2M

I loved how the police officer talked about everything she does to keep the community safe. - Kiaan 2J 

The handcuffs felt cool and I learnt about the police officers job. - Gabriella 2J
