HPS Sports Carnival

What a wonderful afternoon of fun and activity HPS had last Wednesday for our Sports Carnival. Not only was the whole school together, but we were blessed with a beautiful sunny afternoon. So many parents, grandparents and carers came along to watch and offer support, making the day a lovely HPS community event.
The Prep – 2 children showed some amazing skills launching bean bags high and balancing an egg in the egg and spoon race. They robbed the nest, crawled under hurdles and threw frisbees. So many smiles and lots of laughter could be found at the parachute as the children explored a host of games.
The Year 3 – 6 children had some old favourites, trying to fill buckets with soaked sponges, playing dodgeball and numbers soccer. Some of the new activities this year included a frisbee throw which was extra challenging due to the wind. Well done for persevering! Small teams played Bocce, learning how to adjust their throw and get closest to the Jack. Some very exciting games resulted.
A huge congratulations to all students for having a go and for the way you listened to instructions and played in a fun yet respectful way. Lots of excited noise suggest that you had a lot of fun.
A very big thankyou to parent/carers for your support signing children out and ensuring this was a safe event. Also to the teachers for helping to run the variety of games and activities with such enthusiasm.
Well done HPS community for making our Sport Carnival such a success.
