Parent teacher interviews

Next week, we begin our parent–teacher interviews, which provide a valuable opportunity to discuss your child’s progress and learning goals. These meetings help strengthen the partnership between home and school and support your child’s success. Please note that interviews are scheduled for 10 minutes. To help everything run smoothly, we kindly ask that you arrive on time, as teachers have many appointments throughout the afternoon.

We look forward to connecting with you and sharing your child’s achievements so far this year.

K–2 Teachers Undergoing Initialit Training

Our K–2 and OAK teachers have recently begun training in InitiaLit, a research-based program designed to provide explicit, systematic instruction in reading, spelling, and phonics. InitiaLit supports the development of strong foundational literacy skills, ensuring all students build the knowledge and confidence needed to become successful readers and writers. This professional learning is part of our ongoing commitment to high-quality teaching and learning in the early years

The program will launch in classrooms in Term 2. Thank you to Mrs Robinson and Ms Silipo for taking the lead on organisation for this important initiative.

Launching Our School Facebook Page – Term 2

We’re excited to announce the launch of our school Facebook page in Term 2. The page will be used to celebrate and share the timely achievements of our students, giving families a window into the fantastic learning and events happening across the school. Please note, this platform will not be used for reminders or general announcements—our main communication channels will continue to be the school newsletter and official emails. We look forward to showcasing the great things happening at our school!

Congratulations to Our Zone Swimming Team

Congratulations to all the students who proudly represented our school at the Zone Swimming Carnival. We are incredibly proud of your effort, sportsmanship, and determination on the day. A special mention to those swimmers who have now qualified for the Regional Carnival—we wish you the very best of luck as you compete at the next level. We’ll be cheering you on!

K-2 Assembly

It was lovely to see all parents and carers attend the K-2 assembly this afternoon! Your presence truly highlights the strong sense of community we have here at Chatswood Public School. Thank you for being a part of our students’ learning experiences and for supporting their achievements.

School Uniform Update

The transition to Lowes as our new uniform supplier has been largely successful, with many families already making use of the new purchasing options. We are aware that some uniform items are currently low in stock. As with any transition, a few teething issues were expected, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as stock levels are replenished. We’ll continue to work closely with Lowes to ensure a smooth process for our school community.

Cross Country Carnival 2025

The CPS Cross Country Carnival is coming up in Week 2 Term 2, on Monday 5 May 2025. This Cross Country event is a great opportunity for students to participate in physical activity with their friends and compete in a long distance running event. This event also gives students an opportunity to compete towards being selected for the Zone Cross Country Carnival. Students will travel to Artarmon Reserve by bus. Parents should note that ALL students in Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 must attend and Year 2 students who are 8 or turning 8 this year and want to participate. We look forward to seeing students there! Please visit School Bytes to give your child permission.
