Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers
Term 1 has been a hectic yet productive start to 2025, and it’s hard to believe we only have one week left before the next school holidays. We have seen some incredible highlights, including outstanding academic results from our Year 12 students (please refer to the Annual Report for details) and a variety of successful student events and activities.
Term 2
Term 2 commences on Monday 28 April, for both students and staff. The School Development Day for Term 2 will be on Friday 30 May (Week 5).
Parent Teacher Meetings #1 (Wednesday 9 April)
I am looking forward to meeting as many parents as possible next Wednesday for our first round of Parent Teacher Meetings. Instructions about how to book both rounds of interviews have been emailed to parents and are also included in previous Parent Updates. Best wishes to everyone for a positive and successful Parent-Teacher Interview Day on Wednesday.
Annual Report
The 2024 Annual Report has recently been endorsed by the School Board and is now available on the school’s website. The report provides an outline and analysis of the school’s performance in relation to our priorities and targets outlined in the Business Plan 2023-25. It contains information on student performance, including comparative performance with similar schools (both academic and non-academic). I recommend that all parents have a look at the report to gain a better understanding of the school’s programs and performance during 2024. I’m happy to answer any questions or provide additional information upon request.
School Carparks
Our school carparks are very busy places, particularly during the ‘peak times’ at the beginning and end of the day. We intend to install some additional signage and speed bumps during the school holidays to improve the safety of both students and other users. There is a strict 10 km per hour speed limit in the carparks, and all users are requested to take extreme caution.
Communication with Parents
We are constantly seeking ways to improve our communication with parents and will be trialling the use of text messaging to alert parents that the latest Parent Update link has been emailed. Please feel free to suggest ideas on how we can improve the format of Parent Updates to make them more readable and useful to you.
Planning and Infrastructure Meetings
We have now had several site visits and meetings with a range of Department of Education staff as part of the planning process for the next stage in a significant new build for the school. The current discussions are focussed on the number of students that the new buildings will accommodate when completed.
In the meantime, the Department has agreed to provide the following assistance with the current transportable classrooms:
- An additional pathway connecting the transportable area to the rest of the school via a path to the west of S Block.
- A cleaners and gardeners shed to be located adjacent to the transportable area.
- A transportable toilet block for staff and students to be located adjacent to the transportable area.
- Additional drinking taps in the area.
Wishing everyone an enjoyable Easter and a restful school holiday period!
Paul Leech, Principal
