Respectful Relationships

"The Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships learning materials have been designed for teachers in primary and secondary schools to develop students' social, emotional and positive relationship skills.
Efforts to promote social and emotional skills and positive gender norms in children and young people has been shown to improve health related outcomes and subjective wellbeing.
It also reduces antisocial behaviours including engagement in gender-related violence.
The Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships learning materials cover eight topics of Social and Emotional Learning across all levels of primary and secondary education: emotional literacy; personal and cultural strengths; positive coping; problem-solving; stress management; help-seeking; gender norms and stereotypes; and positive gender relations."

CHARACTER STRENGHS AT GRPS
As we begin our whole-school exploration of Topic 2, Personal and Cultural Strengths, our Prep to Year 6 students took part in a special learning experience during Wellbeing Week.
Throughout the week, students proudly identified and showcased their top character strengths. Just as we rely on our muscles to move through the day, we also rely on our personal and cultural strengths to navigate daily life whether we realise it or not.
These strengths help us to:
-put in EFFORT when learning new things,
-be FAIR and GET ALONG with others,
-STAY IN CONTROL of our emotions, and
-manage challenges with resilience.
Some of the strengths students explored included:
KIND, FAIR, FUNNY, BRAVE, FORGIVING, CURIOUS, HONEST, GENEROUS, and DETERMINED.
We call these our character strengths, personal strengths, or cultural strengths because they shape how we interact with ourselves, others, and the world around us.
