Learning in Grade 4!

That's a wrap for Term 1!

It has been a jam packed term in Year 4! In Mathematics, we have wrapped up our work on addition and subtraction while strengthening our fast facts skills. In Literacy, we have been working hard to consolidate our phonogram knowledge and spelling rules to support our reading and writing. We have also enjoyed exploring comprehension strategies alongside our Class Novel Study, 'Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing'.

In Writing, we’ve focused on developing our narrative skills, producing some incredible published pieces that we loved sharing with the younger year levels. Beyond the classroom, we’ve had a fantastic time celebrating special events, including Harmony Week, Wellbeing Week, The Disco, and Sports at Aquinas just to name a few!

What’s Coming Up in Term 2?

As we wrap up our URStrong lessons, we are now officially Friendship Ninjas! Next term, we’re excited to begin our Respectful Relationships program, where we’ll explore personal and cultural strengths. In Mathematics, we’ll dive into multiplication and division, applying our skills in new and exciting ways.

Our Integrated Studies topic, Roots, Shoots, and Muddy Boots, will take us on a journey into the world of plants and nature. We willl be beginning 'The BFG' as our class novel, with plenty of fun-filled activities planned around it!

The Year 4 teachers wish you and your families a wonderful, safe break. We look forward to seeing you back, refreshed and ready for an exciting Term 2!
