Learning in Grade 3!

What an exciting second half of term we have had in Grade 3!

First, we wrapped up NAPLAN, and we couldn’t be prouder of the students for their hard work and positive attitude throughout the process. Well done, Grade 3s!

During Wellbeing week, both staff and students took time to focus on mindfulness and self-care. Our activities included meditation, gratitude practice, and exploring our character strengths, helping us build resilience and a strong sense of community. It was wonderful to see the students reflect on what makes them unique and appreciate the positive qualities in themselves and others.

Another highlight was the IOP Indigenous Hip Hop Dance incursion, where students explored movement, rhythm, and cultural expression. They embraced the experience with energy making it a memorable learning opportunity.

To finish off our term Integrated theme, 'One Country, Many Stories'students chose a Dreamtime story to summarise and created a pizza box project. We loved having our family and friends visit to look at them all.

What's coming up in Term 2:

Literacy:

We will continue to focus on Spalding spelling, fluency reads and begin reading and writing information texts.

Maths:

We will continue to develop our number and fluency skills throughout the term using a range of games and hands on activities, as well delving into the world of Measurement.  Which involves time, length, capacity and mass.

Integrated:

We will be looking at the Integrated theme of 'Australia, you are standing on it!' where we will learn more about our states, cities and landmarks and what makes Australia GREAT!

We can’t wait for another great term after the Easter Holidays.
