SCHOOL DROP OFF AND PICK UP SAFETY

A friendly reminder to adhere to safety measures when dropping off and picking up your children from school. Please especially make sure that you are mindful of not parking in driveways or allocated bus zones and only using the designated car drop off/pick up area if you are not parking your car.

REAL TALK - Year 4 and Year 6

Tomorrow we will welcome members of the Real Talk Team to our school. The REAL Talk team will facilitate workshops with our Year 4 and Year 6 students. It is important that parents are aware of what will be discussed with their child. Please refer to the Compass notification about the topics to be unpacked by the Real Talk Team. Real Talk has provided a link to the parent membership site. Access to all content is free and very beneficial. https://realtalkparents.com/primaryfreeyear

WHO IS REAL TALK? Real Talk provides seminars, reflection days and up-to-date resources to young people on topics relating to identity, eSafety, relationships, love, sex and marriage. They speak to over 30,000 students each year and provide resources to support children and their parents.

PUPIL FREE DAY

Our final Pupil Free Day for this year is Friday 20th December.

KINDER 2025

If you have a child starting Kindergarten in 2025, please mark your diary with these upcoming dates. Any queries, please contact our office staff.

ORIENTATION DAYS

The three orientation sessions for Kindergarten 2025 children are scheduled for the following dates.

  • Orientation Day 2 - Friday 8th November 2024 - 9am - 11am
  • Orientation Day 3 - Friday 15th November 2024 - 9am - 11am

The Orientation Days for children are significant in helping children familiarise themselves with the school environment and helping to make the transition to ‘big school’ so much easier.  These days are also used by teachers to make observations that may help us to cater for your child’s needs.  Children should be dressed in appropriate casual clothing with a hat and closed in shoes.  Your child should bring a water bottle and cut fruit for morning tea at each orientation visit.

LEAVING OR RELOCATING?

Planning for the 2025 school year is well underway. Could we ask any families who may be relocating and will not be attending St Nicholas School next year to contact the office staff as soon as possible.

SUPERVISION OF STUDENTS

All parents need to be aware, our supervision of students

does not begin until 8.15am each day.

St Nicholas School gates will not be open until the arrival of the first school bus at approximately 8.10am. It is not appropriate for children to be at school before this time with no supervision.

If your child/ren require care before 8.15am you may like to consider before school care here at school with Esteem.
