Recent Diocesan Sporting Events

On Friday, nine students from St. Mary of the Angels travelled to Inverell to compete against around 400 students from across the Armidale Diocese at the Diocesan Touch Carnival . This includes schools as far South as Quirindi, as West as Walgett and as North as Tenterfield. In our rounds we played 4 games, scoring 28 tries and not conceding a single try. We then played the semis and finals, also without allowing our opponents across the line. We were astounded to find ourselves in the Grand Final opposing the host school, Holy Trinity Inverell. Our team played their hearts out in 30 degree heat and unfortunately lost 4-0 to a well drilled Inverell team. Congratulations on a fantastic day of sportsmanship, determination and team work to Darcy, Indi, Christopher, Scarlett, Flynn, Hugo, Charlie, Peter and Emmy. You represented Guyra with pride! 

A big thank you to Mrs. Grills for assisting on the day as well.

Sporting Schools Program Term 4

Throughout Term 4, our students will be participating in the Sporting Schools Tennis Program. All lessons will take place here at school on a Friday with a specialised Tennis coach. 

2025 Carnival Dates

We are currently looking at carnival dates for 2025 in line with the current draft 2025 Armidale Diocesan Sporting calendar. We will communicate these dates with families once they have been booked.
