Dear Lord,
Give all students a thirst for knowledge, wisdom and understanding.
May their hearts be ready to learn this term.
Open their ears, hands and hearts to receive your gifts and help them to use these gifts for the good of all.
Keep our students, families and staff in your loving care Lord.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
Socktober
On Wednesday the 30th of October, St Mary of the Angels School embraced the Socktober event filled with creativity and colour. It was wonderful to see our young people and educators join in on the fun whilst raising money for an important cause. Due to the fantastic efforts of our school community, St Mary of the Angels were able to donate $141.00 to Socktober Mission Month.
Vinnies Christmas Appeal
As part of the 2024 Vinnies Christmas Appeal, the St Mary of the Angels Mini Vinnies committee will be hosting 2 events alongside this year's donations. We ask for all who are able to bring in donations of non-perishable pantry essentials and Christmas gifts to drop the items off to the school. These donations will be handed over to those in need and can be placed in the front office in the designated tub. We ask for donations to be at school by Thursday the 12th of December.
Crazy Hair Day will be hosted on Friday the 15th of November. All young people are encouraged to get creative with their hairstyles on this day in engage for a gold coin donation. Students will be required to still wear their full school sports uniform. All funds raised will be used to purchase a gift card to go in a Christmas hamper for the Vinnies Christmas Appeal. There will be prizes awarded on the day to those young people with the best hairstyles.
On Friday the 13th of December, we will be holding a Christmas Fun Day. Young people are asked to wear their best Christmas outfits and strut their stuff in the fashion show to be in the running for one of the best-dressed awards on the day. Students are asked to bring a gold coin donation for dressing up. A guessing jar will also happen on the day with guesses 50c each. This event was a huge success last year and for 2024 we are making it even bigger. Families and Friends are invited to join in on the fun and come and celebrate alongside us. The fashion show will start at 1:30 pm followed by a BBQ lunch (all students and families are welcome to pre-order via Compass) with the afternoon concluding with a range of Christmas-inspired activities. We look forward to all families and friends joining us for this special afternoon.
