Congratulations to our wonderfully talent choristers who performed the recent New England Sings Concert in Armidale.
Five of our young people dedicated recess and after school times to rehearse complicated songs for over 7 months and on the 27th October they joined with 20 other schools to perform in a professional concert at Lazenby Hall at UNE.
I cannot describe the feeling watching our young people perform to such a high level, with the performers from the Symphony orchestra, and oh golly, listening to the collective voices as they performed their numbers.. chills...literal chills.
Well done Lewis, Darcie, Charlie B, Lexi and Kirby, you are wonderful examples of how the arts can ignite such joy and wonder.
Newcastle Permanent Mathematics Competition
In early Term 3, we had 24 students from years 4, 5 and 6 participate in the 44th installment of the annual Newcastle Permanent Mathematics Competition.
This year saw over 300 schools and 15,000 students participate.
The Newcastle Permanent Mathematics Competition is an annual maths competition that gives students from across regional NSW the opportunity to test their numeracy and problem-solving skills. It is one of Australia’s longest running annual mathematics competitions.
I am excited to announce that the results are in. In total our students were awarded;
2 x Distinction Awards
8 x Merit Awards
14 x Participation Awards
