Secondary School

It was wonderful to acknowledge the significant contributions of our outgoing 2024 School Captains and Vice Captains at the Valedictory Assembly late last term. At this time, we also welcomed the new 2025 School Captains, Emma Mitchell and Michael Williams, and new Vice Captains, Erika Glover and Amelia D’Angri. It was an important occasion that marked a moment of change, of thanks, and of hope for the future; and it reminded us that good people leave wonderful legacies for those who come next, to aspire to, and build upon.

This week, our Year 11 students began to transform into Year 12 students, and next week at our HSC Commencement Breakfast, they will enter their final year of Secondary School. They will be aiming to achieve their personal best, and they know that they are most likely to do this by taking small and intentional steps, using lessons learnt from those that came before them, and aspiring to build upon that wonderful legacy. This strategy of learning from others is of course useful at all year levels, whether you are studying together for the upcoming Year 9 or Year 10 exams, or Year 7 students building an ant farm together. Being inspired by others and striving to be better are noble and worthy pursuits of our young people this term, at Moama Anglican Grammar.

Year 7 Science

This week, Year 7 Science students set up an ant farm as part of their Ecology Unit.  Students had to be quick moving the ants into their new home after briefly sedating the ants in the refrigerator – a process that mimics hibernation.
