World Teachers Day - Celebrating the Work of Our Teachers
World Teachers Day is celebrated across NSW on 25 October and is a day that recognises and celebrates the collective work of our teachers to educate, inspire, guide, mentor, nurture and empower our students, in partnership with our families.
This morning, we held a Staff Morning Tea to celebrate World Teachers Day and utilised this forum to thank and acknowledge teaching staff for all that they do across the life of our school, each and every day to make our school great.
A key feature of our morning tea was the surprise presentation of a Year 12 Student Voice Reflection and Teacher Appreciation Video.
This moving 12-minute video, which can be accessed below, captures the voice of a selection of HSC students in 2024 and celebrates our teachers. Our students provide deeply authentic and personalised accounts of staff who have had a significant and meaningful impact on their lives of our students from their perspective.
Whilst a small selection of teacher names are referenced in these student reflections, it is important to acknowledge and take some time to reflect upon the difference that every teacher makes to the lives of our students and families as we celebrate World Teachers Day.
