Year 6 Online Transition
The Final Word is a valuable program designed to support every Year 6 student as they get ready for the exciting transition to secondary school. Through a series of engaging live online sessions, this program provides graduating students with essential knowledge and skills to safely and responsibly navigate the online world.
Over the next few weeks, Year 6 students will participate in three online sessions led by the Cyber Safety Project and facilitated by their teachers. These sessions will cover important topics that help prepare them for the digital challenges they’ll encounter in secondary school.

In this session, students will learn the essential steps to secure their digital presence. By understanding how to plan, protect, and prevent online risks, they will be better equipped to handle the challenges of social media and gaming environments.
Session 2: My Digital Identity
Students will explore the impact of their online actions on their reputation and learn the importance of maintaining integrity. This session also delves into the significance of following digital laws and the ethical considerations of using AI.
Session 3: Balancing Life and Tech
Balancing the digital world with real life is crucial for well-being. This session addresses how to handle managing digital communication, navigate peer pressure, and tackling online abuse or cyberbullying.
Navigating the Digital Transition to Secondary School: A Special Online Session for Year 6 Parents
We invite Year 6 parents to join our Navigating the Digital Transition to Secondary School information session, designed to help you understand the key online challenges and trends your child may face as they move into secondary school. This session will be available online exclusively for Year 6 parents, and you can choose to watch it live or view the recording at a time that best suits you.
In this session, you’ll gain practical tips, explore important themes for safe online behavior, and learn conversation starters to support your child’s responsible digital journey as they embark on this new stage of their education.
