Celebrating Learning

Halloween, Diwali, Firefighter incursion, family maths night! So far, term 4 has been a whirlwind of activity….

Literacy

Students continue to publish their books. With many already moving onto their next writing adventure!

It’s been wonderful to have parent helpers at the start of each day, as students read in their fluency pairs. 

Numeracy

This week we begin our mapping unit, told through story, beginning with Little Red Riding Hood and moving onto Knuffle Bunny.

Next week, we will begin our unit on sharing. 

Outdoor Play-Based Learning (PBL)

Engineering and construction continued this week and the hot weather was ideal for water channels and reservoirs. There were many curious wonderings and questions, where prompts extended student discussion to trial and experiment. 

"But the water will just disappear before it even gets there! The sand will soak it up." Morgan

"Maybe we could put wood in the tunnel to line it?" - Dorian

"If we just put lots of water down at once, then it will travel along quickly before it disappears." - Percy
